Later that day Freddie was still at the theatre when the afternoon performance began. He watched for a while from the wings, then during the interval he grabbed an ice-cream tray and went out front. It took a while before anyone realized their ice-cream seller was Freddie, and when he was finally recognised he started to throw the ice creams, telling people they could have them free, he'd pay for them all.
